Different Types of Learning Disabilities in Children
Young children are usually very active and quick in learning new things that intrigue them. Because of their ability and habit of learning new things learning anything new becomes extremely easy to them, but some of the kids exhibit a kind of learning disability. A learning disability is a neurological condition of the body which affects the brain’s ability to send, receive, and process information. A child with such a condition develops difficulty in reading, writing, speaking, listening, understanding mathematical concepts, and general comprehension. Learning disabilities include a number of disorders such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. All these disorders can co-exist with each other in a single kid and cause a multi-dimensional issue in the kid. Learning disabilities are because of the genetic or neurological factor that alters brain functioning in a manner that affects one or more cognitive processes related to learning. These issues can affect the learning skills such as the reading, writing ability of the child. Learning disabilities can impact the life of the kid beyond just the academic constraints and can impact the relationship of the child with the other kids and with the relatives and even his/her own family as well. Learning difficulty is mostly identified in the school years, and can be corrected with proper help from the teacher and parents but there are people who have experienced the disability in learning and reading throughout their lifetime but still have never been able to identify the root cause of the issue.
