Importance of Education in women
Importance of education has been the topic of discussion for decades. Have we actually done anything about it? Yes there have been certain steps that the government has taken in order to motivate and encourage girls into the field of education. Earlier the orthodox thinking of people especially in the rural areas led to the notion that girls should not be educated as their main focus should always be to take care of the family, cook for the family and help the children to grow.
The continuous effort made by the government and the
people themselves to make them understand the importance of educating a girl
child is commendable. The primary and the basic reason is when you educate a
girl child, you educate the entire family since the girl will firstly help by
teaching her brothers and sisters and once she gets married she can help in
educating her children.
It is important to realize how important education is
in order for a country to develop as well. In order for a country to grow and
develop it is necessary that the female population of the country is also
educated so that they can not only help in the socio economic status of a family
but also help in educating and promoting new ideas for development of the
country.
Knowing the condition of our country is not stable
which means that the capital is not equally distributed among all individuals
and there is a huge difference between the capital and not everybody can afford
a good education. But in order for a country to grow it is necessary to educate
all the sections of the society for which the government has introduced many
educational programs that are effectively practiced in the rural and urban
areas as well.
Some of the non government organizations and private
sector initiatives have also played a huge role in imparting education among
women.
There have been several educational institutions that
provide education for free to girls and apart from education they also provide
Vocational Studies that help in making trained and skilled women. Along with
education they can also be skilled enough to get a job to support their family
and support themselves.
When a woman in a family is independent, it provides a
lot of strength to the family and it also motivates other people to follow the
same steps in order to improve the condition of the family specially in the
rural areas.
Today, a lot of women in the rural areas are educated
because their uneducated or orthodox parents have understood the importance of
education for women; they understand how important it is to educate a girl
child. As they are not only capable of being the helping hand but capable
enough to support their family in the time of need.
Factors that help in Economic Independence and
empowerment by educating a girl child, these factors include:
Improved condition of life as she has ability to read,
learn and knows her rights.
Improved health, as educated girls bring awareness
about health hygiene and know how to live a healthy lifestyle and take
appropriate preventive steps to get rid from diseases.
Dignity and Honor: Educated women are independent and
do not depend upon money. They are good role models since they embrace their
dignity and honor.
Choice to choose a profession: Education brings the
luxury along with their ability to be able to choose a profession of their
choice and liking.
